Work Experience

CESEL has a supportive approach and welcoming attitude to anyone coming to us for work experience or long term placement, we also have a wide range of activities within the ACE Centre building and on the Van Delivery Service but everyone just loves getting involved in the kitchen...

CESEL work in partnership with Kelso High School, Momentum, Ways to Work and New Deal and offer short visits or long term placements to people of all ages and abilities.

CESEL Training Courses

Subjects Covered:

Social Enterprise: Definition & Meaning, Legal Structures, Successful Examples, Underdeveloped Potential, Economic Impact, Community Benefit, The Social Entrepreneur.

Legal Responsibilities: Charity Law, Financial Accountability, Company Law, Health & Safety Law, Employment, Constitutions, Trustees.

Team Building: Team Working, Communication, Confidence Building, Negotiating, Volunteers in the Team, Delegation, Presenting, Skills Analysis, Motivation, Managing Staff, Effective Meetings, Generating New Ideas, Support and Supervision.

Support Infrastructures: Networks, Development Organisations, Local Community, Friends and Family, Private Sector, Public Sector, Social Economy Sector, Training Providers, Mentors, Good and Bad Support.

Project Management: Principals of Project Management, Business Planning, Fundraising, Grants, Trading, Market Research, Strategic Planning, Research, Operational Planning, Analysis, Staff Development, Training, IT.

Evaluation: Evaluation of the Course, Benefits to Evaluation, included in all training courses.

Course Timescale: 

One Day Course:  (9.30am -3pm) arrangements can be made for the course to be held in your area for group bookings of six and over and will concentrate on any one of the headings above whichever is most suited to your needs.

Cost:

Day Course Cost: £98  per person attending the full day.

1/2 Day Course Cost: £69  per person attending.

A fully accessible crèche with disabled facilities can also be provided in Kelso at an additional cost.

CESEL Web Space:....

CESEL are providing a limited amount of FREE web space to their network members, to enable them to have an A4 size (1 page) web site, this service is available to all network members who presently don't have a presence on the web, there is no cost for this service.

Serviced Offices:........

34 Woodmarket & New ACE Centre, Kelso

CESEL currently rent the first and second floor of the above properties, (around 2,500sq ft) and in order to develop its activities intends to sub let work stations, with access to Conference Facility, Meeting room and Training room, CESEL is now in a position to offer serviced office accommodation to like-minded organisation in the social enterprise sector at an all-inclusive price, which includes:

1. Exclusive use of:

Workstation, (Including, Desk, Chair & Telephone line)

2. Shared use of:

Meeting rooms 

Office Equipment  

Notice Boards 

3. Inclusive costs and services:

The above package is offered at the price of  £1,800 per annum per desk space, cheaper rates are available for those taking  more than one desk.

Only one year’s commitment is required, this offer will be of interest to new start organisations which can benefit from the extensive CESEL network of contacts and support.
