The project runs initially in the form of a 1.9t dispatch van and will test the water to see how much of a demand there is for this service out with our Borders membership who have already indicated a need and are using the service regularly, The project has been financed using all our own hard earned cash with no grant funding.

 

The hope is that demand will be high enough to double capacity and employ two full time drivers and use the project to offer 'real life' work experience and employment opportunities to anyone who needs it most.

 

 CESEL recently joined forces in partnership with Forth Sector and their Park View Laundry service to bid for a council contract which supports social work clients in the Scottish Borders and were successful in wining the 8 month contract, we were up against private and public sector competitors and were chosen ahead of the others because of our price and added value. This has been a very rewarding partnership and we are enjoying working with Forth Sector and heading towards our goal for expansion of this service.
